Deer Hunts

Location, Location, Location: Border Bucks outfitters is located in Northern Missouri and Southern Iowa. We currently have approximately 12,192 acres of prime habitat located on the Missouri/Iowa border. We have been under a very strict management program for several years which has made our trophy quality what it is today. Along with our management program, the state of Missouri has also introduced a 4 pt. restriction in our area, stating that a legal buck has to have 4 pts. on one side to be considered legal. This too has helped our trophy quality.

Land Management: We also spend a lot of time enhancing our land for wildlife. We plant several acres of food plots to insure that our deer herd remains healthy. Our food plots consist of corn, soybeans, milo, sunflowers, cowpeas, alfalfa, clover, and several other deer attracting foods. Our land is very diverse, large tracts of hardwood timber, row crop, river bottoms, thick brush, and crp fields with lots of food plots. Most of our hunts are performed from large well equipped treestands, ladder stands, and ground blinds. We strive to make your hunt as comfortable as we can.

Success Rates: In 2005 we had 100% success on oppurtunity for our hunters, and 82.3% on actual kills. Our average buck in 2005 scored 146 5/8, that is rifle,muzzleloader and bow combined. We keep our success rates high by not overhunting our land, which is part of our management program. We keep the number of hunters down, and the number of bucks up. The light hunting pressure helps our hunters to be successful. We want each and every hunter to have a safe, memorable, and successful hunt.
